Comic anders – berührend und sehr aktuell

Im Oberösterreichischen Kunstverein findet eine ganz besondere Ausstellung statt: Die Grafikdesignerin Hannelore Greinecker-Morocutti, geboren 1952 in der Steiermark, zeigt ihre Arbeit „Der Himmel zwischen den Mauern“.

Hier fällt es schwer, die Bezeichnung Comic zu verwenden, zu ernst erscheint der Inhalt. Besser passt wohl der von Greinecker-Morocutti selbst gewählte Begriff der „Graphik-Novelle“. Die Geschichte handelt von einer jungen Frau, die einen Kongress in Warschau besucht. Nachts, in ihren Träumen, begegnet sie dem jüdischen Mädchen Lea Weizenbaum. Lea führt die junge Frau durch das jüdische Warschau der 30er Jahre. Die Welt ist noch heil, und alle Möglichkeiten scheinen Lea offenzustehen. Doch dann führt der Weg Lea und die junge Frau ins Warschauer Ghetto und weiter zum „Umschlagplatz“, der in den Gaskammern von Treblinka endet.

Hannelore Greinecker-Morocutti lässt sich von ihrem Medium nicht den Inhalt diktieren. Sie erkennt das Comic als das, was es ist: ein Zwitterwesen aus Bildender Kunst und Literatur, das sich zum Erzählen jedweder Geschichte eignet.

Greinecker-Morocutti hat für ihre tragische Geschichte einen grafischen Stil gewählt. Der Hintergrund ist schwarz, nur szenisch relevante Details werden beleuchtet. Diese Inszenierungsart entspricht einerseits dem dunklen und bedrückenden Thema, andererseits vermittelt das Schwarz-Weiß dem Betrachter einen Eindruck von Geschichtlichkeit.

Die Geschichte endet mit der Darstellung von 200 Särgen – einer für jedes der jüdischen Waisenkinder, die in Treblinka ermordet wurden. Comic einmal anders – berührend und gleichzeitig sehr aktuell.

Sadako Sasaki was at home in Hiroshima when the explosion occurred, about one mile from Ground Zero. She was hospitalized on February 21, 1955, and given, at the most, a year to live. On August 3, 1955, Sadako's best friend Chizuko Hamamoto came to the hospital to visit and cut a piece of paper into a square to fold it into a paper crane, in reference to the ancient Japanese story that promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Sadako died on the morning of October 25, 1955 at the age of 12. Sadako's story has become familiar to many schoolchildren around the world through the novels „Sadako will leben“ by the Austrian writer Karl Bruckner. Illustration: H. Greinecker-Morocutti

Der Himmel zwischen den Mauern, erzählt die Geschichte des jüdischen Warschaus in den 30er Jahren, als die jüdische Kultur voll aufblühte. Als Führerin auf dieser Reise fungiert Lea Weizenbaum, eine fiktive Person, dem wir im Ghetto wiederbegegnen. Ein junges Mädchen, das den Mut und die Hoffnung repräsentiert mit der viele Bewohner des Warschauer Ghettos dem Schrecken des Alltags trotzten. Und wir erleben ihren Weg zum ‘Umschlagplatz’, der in den Gaskammern von Treblinka endet.

"Der Himmel zwischen den Mauern" (Heaven between the Walls) is going to
appear in Chilufim. "Chilufim-Zeitschrift für jüdische Kulturgeschichte" is a
bi-annual german language magazine on jewish culture.
The hebrew word "Chilufim" means "exchange" or "transfer". It represent
the aim on the magazine, the cultural exchange between jewish and non-jewish
people, as well as the developments within jewish identities from antiqutity
until now.
The issue is expected to appear on april 2011.

ich habe mich sehr gefreut dass Sabahudin Hadzialic, der Herausgeber des DIOGEN pro cultur Kunstmagazins, so eine wunderbare Einführung zu meinen Arbeiten geschrieben hat. Was ich aber erst jetzt entdeckt habe, ist: dass er der Schriftsteller ist der dafür gesorgt hat dass krebskranke Kinder aus Bosnien-Herzogowina in Österreich behandelt werden konnten. Menschen die mich kennen werden verstehen wieviel mir dies bedeutet.

….As a friend of Sabi say: Modest and humble, trades of one believer, and yet agnostic if I understood correctly, yes that is Sabi. Hannelore, he does everything one man operation, without him this ship would sink in a heart-beat.
